Ok, we had it running last Saturday, but had a coolant leak on the right head:

So, this is what it looked like Saturday afternoon after it ran.  On this side you can see the coolant (water) on the floor.  It was leaking from the head gasket right above the number 6 cylinder.

So, we got the car nuts together along with the boss (better half) and took it apart….again!

DSC_0832_small We could not find any evidence of a leak, but solid copper gaskets are know for leaking when you run coolant. so …..

DSC_0853_small And put it all back together again.

DSC_0862_small And with lots of help from good friends got it back together in no time

DSC_0890_small So while we were at this point Jerry from Meziere Enterprises had made a suggestion that we plumb the pressure side into the expansion tank to make the system self , and constantly clearing of air. A new line was plumbed from the intake to the expansion tank (an ne bung was welded into the tank to do this. The location makes it hard to get a good picture.

DSC_0898_smallThe engine was fired up and all leaks are gone and the new line does just what is should.
