Rear End Upgrade Step Five

Ok, the rear end is now in, now is the time to address the exhaust system. At the beginning I stated I wanted a quieter exhaust system, but I still wanted to disturb the piece on occasion. Here we go
What we need is some electric cut outs! In this picture the valve is open.
To get the quiter exhaust system I purchased some custom build mufflers from United Muffler build to the same size as FlowMaster mufflers so that they fit in the American Thunder exhaust system. I am really particular (you most likely have not figured that out yet) about how the mufflers hang und a car. I really hate it when they are uneven. I get everything in place and block in and then weld it
Ok, once I got the system all welded up and hanging straight, I took it back out and cut it up again to install the cutouts. Once the cutouts were welded in place I painted the pipes a light gray.
I mounted the cut outs on the inboard side of the exhaust system between the pipes and the transmission. They fit into that area really nice and you can not see them at all when looking at the car from the side.
This is a shot looking from the rear end up to the transmission. You can see both cutouts mounted on the inboard side of the pipes, between the pipes and the transmission.
This is the outboard side of the pipe and as you can see the cutout is not visible from the side of the car unless you are laying on the ground.
Ok, the rear end and exhaust project are complete, well until next time anyway.
